Value Sparks: Optimism

The NCS Leadership Team seeks to provide opportunities for men to gather in the name of Jesus, so that they might strengthen their relationships with each other and with Jesus.

In keeping with our vision, we will feature a specific value for each quarterly newsletter we send out. This quarter, we are highlighting Optimism.

“The essence of optimism is that it takes no account of the present, but is a source of inspiration, of vitality and hope where others have resigned; it enables a man to hold his head high, to claim the future for himself and not to abandon it to his enemy.”

- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”

-King Solomon; Proverbs 17:22

“Focus on where you want to go, not on what you fear.”

- Tony Robbins

“Cynicism masquerades as wisdom, but it is the farthest thing from it. Because cynics don’t learn. Because cynicism is a self-imposed blindness, a rejection of the world because we are afraid it will hurt us or disappoint us.”

- Stephen Tolle
