NCS News: Happening Around the Southeast Regional Network

As we reflect on 2021, here are a few things to celebrate from the fall!

Nothing Like a Little Steak & Strawberry

In November 2021, the men of NCS Sarasota partnered with Church of the Redeemer and hosted a night with Darryl Strawberry. While there was an original expectation of 150 guests, they packed the house out with 300 men. It's one of the biggest events they've seen in a long time, and they're still basking in it!

Frank Thomas Throws Down at the ACC Championship Football Game It warmed the heart of all the NCS who were at the ACC football champ to hear Frank Thomas sing "Lift Every Voice and Sing" during the ACC championship football game at Panther stadium in Charlotte on December 4, 2021. NCS brother Hal Rosser says, "great to see our brother Frank Thomas sing for almost 60,000 people at the ACC Championship game in Charlotte. He brought the house down as usual -proud of our brother, he’s so gifted."

NCS Winston Salem: Carrying on Traditions After Pentecost, the earliest followers of Jesus met together daily to attend to the Apostles’ teaching, experience fellowship, break bread and pray. Each participant would contribute what they had for shared meals they referred to as "The Feast of Agape" or "the love feast." This tradition was brought to us through the Moravians after an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the believers at Herrnhut, Germany in 1727. Not wishing to break the deep sharing and reconciliation among the group, food was sent for so that the worshipers could continue to talk without having to break for meals. The love feast of the early church was reborn. NCS Winston Salem continued that tradition during the 8th Annual Love Feast at the River Birch Lodge on December 17, 2021 with 75 plus men in person while some men joined via Zoom.
